New features and functionality

Export masks as alpha channels in PSD/PSB files

Export all masks created in Capture One, whether AI generated, based on luminance, or painted by hand, as alpha channels in PSD and PSB files. This long-requested enhancement makes it easy to carry precise selections into other applications and streamlines workflows that rely on alpha channels without extra steps or conversions.

Mask thumbnails in the Layers & Masks Tool

Each layer now displays a small mask preview thumbnail, making it easier to identify which areas of an image are affected by each adjustment. This supports faster layer organization and improves clarity, especially when working with multiple masks.

User experience and performance improvements

Combine Masks improvements

The Magic Brush can now be used when creating or modifying submasks, providing more control when building complex mask structures.

Rename Submasks

Submasks can be renamed for clearer organization.

Improved layout

Updated with new icons for a clearer overview. The Set as Default button has also been removed, and your selections are now remembered automatically.

Capture One Live Star Ratings and Color Tags retention

Star Ratings and Color Tags shared through Capture One Live now remain available for 30 additional days after a Live Session expires. Opening a Session or Catalog with expired Live Collections automatically downloads collaborator feedback, ensuring no ratings or tags are lost.
