Nikon USA Releases New Version of their NX Studio Today!

Nikon today released a new version of NX Studio in order to be compatible with the new D850 DSLR firmware, also released today. The changes to NX Studio compared to the prior version are mainly to be compatible with the new D850 firmware :

• Added support for D850 firmware version 1.30.

  • • Fixed the following issues:

    • - The vibration reduction information for pictures viewed in NX Studio would sometimes not match that shown on the camera.

    • - NX Studio would sometimes list incorrect dimensions for [Change image size] in the [Export] dialog for cropped pictures.

Today, Nikon issues new firmware for the Z8 digital camera

Changed the default values for the following settings displayed when connecting wirelessly:

- Encryption keys
- The password displayed after the camera's default settings are restored

• Fixed the following issues:

- Green color casting occurred with some pictures taken.
- The date and time set in camera sometimes would not be correctly applied.
- Using [Picture review] to view an image in a “tall” (portrait) orientation and zooming in the image prevented the display from being scrolled to the intended direction with multi selector or sub-selector.
- After a firmware update, the eye sensor sometimes would not function and the viewfinder would not turn on.
- The “i” menu would sometimes remain in the viewfinder when it was looked through after the shutter-release button was pressed halfway to exit the “i” menu viewed in the monitor.

It's slightly smaller than Nikon's DSLR standard bearer, the D850, while outperforming it in almost every way. Cameras continue to evolve, and we suspect more affordable cameras will start to challenge the likes of the Z8 in terms of autofocus or speed or video capabilities, but as things stand, there are very few cameras that have ever offered the all-around strength that the Z8 exhibits.”
